When I first started high school, I wasn't sure what classes I wanted for electives. It was actually confusing for me because I didn't know how it worked. They would say "pathway" and I would get confused because they said we can only have one pathway and I would say to myself, then what's the other elective for. I didn’t choose wisely in my freshman year. My electives were French and creative living. French was a class I would never regret from choosing because I had one of the best, funny, and outgoing teachers, Mr. Doumbia. He made me understand French and since then I’ve been taking the class until my junior year. Creative living was a class where you learn many different topics about the life like home economics, comparing prices, cooking and many more things. One of the reasons I took this class because I wanted to learn how to cook big dishes. It wasn’t till the end that my expectations weren’t how I wanted it. I started not like the class by the second semester because the teacher was a little lazy with her grading input. They both sounded interesting to me so I chose them but the only class that wasn’t worth taking was creative living. My lesson was learned. So in my sophomore year I took a class that was named Health Careers. In this class, we explored many areas in the medical field. I got really into this class and I was determined to be in this pathway. Throughout the year, I took classes that were in this pathway. In my junior year, I took physiology and I loved that class. It was a little challenging because it required a lot of memorization but I was able to handle it and get all my stuff in. Up to this moment, I’m currently taking NATAP, a nursing program. I hope to strengthen my skills in this class and be able to help others once I get certified. I’m really excited after I graduate because I want to pursue a career in the medical field and be able to study it while I’m in college. Well I am, I hope to get a B.S.N. but then aim for a M.S.N. Thanks to school, I was influence to keep my pathway in place and still aim for the same direction I aimed for once I first started.
